Message from the local section exec board:
This video provided by ASQ Strategic planning really does summarize nicely the issues facing Quality professionals and the ASQ organization at large. The Wilmington Chapter is using this video as the basis of our 2003-2004 program planning. It contains four main points, which I believe you will find right on target.
There is no new quality "silver bullet" on the horizon We need to effectively use and integrate the tools and techniques we already have.
We need to become conversant in "financial terms" to be able to translate quality initiatives into "dollars and cents" benefits to get leaderships attention and priority for needed improvements.
Recruiting new members, and engaging membership to participate in community issues.
How do we as a Chapter and individuals make a useful contribution as Quality professionals?
More details about our plans will be communicated in a future newsletter to the general membership. In the short term, take a few minutes to view the video. Ask yourself, can you help us make a difference and add value to the Chapter, you professionally on the job, personally, and in the community? A good plan never becomes great results without taking action. Can you help play a part in our own continuous improvement?
